Tender Hands Inc. Is a US based 501c3 non-profit that organizes, administrates, supports, raises funds for programs in India that provide skills training and job opportunities for socially and economically disadvantaged women. It was established in November 2007 with this unwavering mission to ensure that every vulnerable woman or child be restored free from abuse, violence, poverty and the threat of slavery. We work primarily in that part of the aftercare process that focuses specifically on reintegration into society. Our approach involves designing and supporting programs that bring restoration through skills training and job opportunities. In 2007, Tender Hands Inc. began supporting programs of care and education for women and children from vulnerable backgrounds in Bombay, India. A few years later, Tender Hands Inc. began engaging specifically with programs in Mumbai providing skills training in baking and confectionary. At the same time, we began supporting a social enterprise a bakery that would provide long-term employment for the women we worked with. The Spring Street Bakery was set up in November 2015 to provide a more holistic approach for the economic reintegration of abused and vulnerable women specifically in India
